The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release is born from the meeting of two great Scottish icons: The Macallan distillery and the world of James Bond. This bottle commemorates the 55th anniversary of "Diamonds Are Forever," the seventh film starring Sean Connery as agent 007.

Behind its creation is Russell Greig, master distiller and well-known fan of the Bond saga, who designed a whisky distilled in 2007 that translates the spirit of the film into aromas and flavours. To achieve this, he turned to European and American oak casks previously used to mature red wine and sherry, a direct nod to the character's own tastes.

The result is an 18-year-old single malt of great complexity and character, bottled at 45.5% vol. Its maturation in seasoned wood delivers a combination of sweet, spiced and fruity nuances that unfold elegantly with every sip.

Aroma and Flavour Profile

On the nose, it combines sophistication with a remarkable richness of nuances: nuts, vanilla pod, chocolate and a hint of spice, all set against a well-integrated oak background. On the palate, it is deep and enveloping, with notes of caramel, truffle, cocoa, ripe fruit and nutmeg. The palate leads into a long, refined finish, with a characteristic and pleasant sherry note.

A Collectible Edition

As is customary with The Macallan, this release comes in an exclusively designed cylindrical case, whose aesthetic recreates iconic scenes and elements from the film: from the clones and laser beams to the villain's white cat or his Las Vegas lair. The packaging's colour palette draws directly from the film's title sequence, reinforcing the link between whisky and cinema.
